Hi! I'm Marielle.
A children's book illustrator based in Germany.

															Background & Passion
I studied Visual Communication at the Academy of Fine Arts in Maastricht and spent over a decade working as a graphic and brand designer – shaping visual identities, telling stories through design, and honing my sense for composition and emotion. Over time, I felt an increasing pull toward illustration. In 2023, I illustrated "Mein Knopf, ein Universum" by Carmen Kroll. This project opened the door to a new chapter. Soon after came "Das kleine Häwas" by Saskia Niechzial and Patricia Pomnitz, followed by many more books. That’s when I realized: this is where my heart truly lies. Since 2025, I’ve been working full-time as a children’s book illustrator, bringing together my design roots and my love for color, character, and storytelling. Creating images that invite children (and grown-ups) to dream, feel, and explore!
